Boopen Seetanah, a graduate from Nottingham University, is a senior lecturer in Economics and Finance at the University of Technology, Mauritius. He is actually the team leader of the Economics and Statistics team at the School of Public Sector Policy and Management and also the programme director of the Bsc (Hons) Banking and International Finance and the programme coordinator of Master in Business Administration (MBA). He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Mauritius, the Mauritius College of the Air, The Mascareign Institute of Law, Economics and Management (MALEM) and for the London School of Law (Mts). He is also an external examiner for the Chartered Institute of Logistic and Transport (UK).
Boopen has published a large number of papers on islands and small states and has been specializing in the field of infrastructure and development and tourism and development over the last couple of years. He has also written book chapters in several edited books. Boopen Seetanah has acted as consultant to several international organisations including the UNCTAD, the COMESA Secretariat and the SACAU.
